Dandi beach is one of the prominent beaches located in Dandi village in Navsari district which is in Gujarat. As I am basically from Gujarat I have lots of memories of my childhood having fun on this beach.
Dandi is one of the cleanest beaches of the Arabian Sea and it holds great importance in the history of India. Mahatma Gandhi led the salt satyagraha from Sabarmati Ashram which is in Ahmedabad to Dandi and this is the place where Mahatma Gandhi broke the salt law.
There is also a garden for children having some small rides to play with. Children can enjoy here with swings and slides in the park. Secondly, if you are a foodie type than you will surely enjoy the snacks available near the gate of Dandi. There they serve Garma Garma bhajiyas and ya in summers you can get Sugarcane juice which will refresh you instantly.
Here you can enjoy camel rides, horse rides and obviously take pleasure by walking on the sea-shore.
This place is generally full of the local public on holidays and weekends but you can always have a romantic and peaceful time with your loved ones walking along the shore.
You can never miss the beautiful sunset of this beach. At the time of sunset, everything just turns out like magic and surroundings are just so peaceful and serene that you won't even wish to go from there.
The beauty of the sun and beach just looks mesmerizing at the time of sunset.
Dandi Ashram
Here there is a small Ashram where pictures of Gandhi and some memorable things are kept. You should surely visit this if you are interested in knowing the history of this place and to know about Gandhiji.
National Salt Satyagrah Memorial
And now in the memory of Gandhiji's Salt Satyagraha memor
ial has been made named Dandi Memorial. Prime minister Mr.Narendra Modi himself had arrived at Dandi for its inauguration.
If one ever comes to Gujarat and visit Dandi then these are the places you must visit for a unique experience.
